Jour 1  : Mariakamba Hut
Drive from Moshi to Momella Gate, then start trekking to Meriakamba Hut (2 451m). The track passes through open grassland with cape buffalo and warthogs. Continue a steady climb through montane forest.

Jour 2  : Saddle Hut
The walk from Miriakampa Hut to the saddle below Little Meru is a a steep sustained climb all the way. Starting through beautiful and lush mountain forest, the path continues through the giant heather and other moorland vegetation to reach Saddle Hut (3 570m).

Jour 3: The Summit, Mount Meru peak
Summit day has an early start at around 3:00am, for the final ascent up to the peak of the Mount Meru (4 566 m) via Rhino point. The ascent will take approximately 3 to 4 hrs. You will arrive at the summit for the sunrise behind amount Kilimandjaro. After a small rest, descent to get back to Momella gate where a car will wait for you to join Moshi.
